Situated within spellbinding surroundings near the northern banks of Bassenthwaite Lake, this stylish and relaxing lodge offers welcoming holiday accommodation for four guests. This bright and friendly wood cabin features a solid oak handcrafted four-poster bed and a delightful double sofa bed in the lounge. Ideal for couples and families discovering the heart of the Lake District, the property has miles of walks from the doorstep. A great base for keen walkers, hikers, climbers, cyclists and nature lovers, this attractive and cosy pod offers wonderful views which you can take in from the decked seating area.

 

Stepping into this cheerful lodge-style pod you will find the bright and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Providing a perfect space for you to sit back and relax at the end of a great day, the lounge features a Smart TV and seating, including a comfortable sofa bed. The kitchen has a useful range of equipment, perfect for preparing your favourite meals which you can enjoy in the handy dining area. The pod also features a king-size bedroom complete with a beautiful four-poster bed and en-suite shower room. Outside, you can enjoy breakfast or evening drinks on the decked area.

 

Nearby attractions include Bassenthwaite Lake National Nature Reserve, the Lake District Wildlife Park, the Lakes Distillery and Mirehouse and Gardens (all within 4 miles). Climbers can attempt peaks including Skiddaw (6.5 miles) and Grisedale Pike (10.5 miles). The charming market town of Keswick lies on the edge of Derwentwater (7.5 miles), and is home to the Theatre by the Lake, Puzzling Place, Keswick Adventure Centre and the Derwent Pencil Museum. Also nearby is the Georgian town of Cockermouth (6.5 miles), famous as the birthplace of Wordsworth, and offering a fantastic choice of restaurants, pubs and galleries.

Very well equipped cabin in a fantastic setting. You are right in nature and have beautiful scenery. As others have said the views are stunning! Inside the cabin its got everything you need in the kitchen so you dont need to take all your own equipment. , it was very clean throughout and the bed is comfy. It is a good base for walks and other sightRead more seeing. The nearest supermarket is about 10/15 mins away so bare that in mind. Hide

Amazing lodge with everything you could possibly need already included, very clean. The pictures really do not do it justice, the views are to die for and we will be returning when were next in the lakes. We also booked our wedding venue while in the lakes so will be recommending the accommodation to our guests.

Beautiful lodge, well equipped, the views are amazing and so peaceful. Lovely sheep outside, definitely recommend it. Not any shops nearby so bring basic food.

The location is tranquil and so relaxing the view is stunning, we had a four day break at Yew Tree Cottage it was fabulous T&J

The lodge was beautiful, however the management company that looks after this property really let it down. Very poor communication from them. My daughter was very ill with tonsillitis while we were here & when I contacted the management company to ask where I could find additional toilet roll I was met with a very curt response. No response to any Read morefurther messages were received and I have later found out that the kindle that I left behind was donated to charity without informing me! Hide

Yew tree cottage is brilliant. Very nicely furnished and great facilities. Tranquil location with fantastic uninteruped views of the hill sides. Location is great, 15 mins away from Keswick and Cockermouth. The lakes wildlife reserve is less than a mile away and was a great day out. Lots to do in the lake district and this place is a great base. LoRead morevely stay and will be our first choice when we return again for a break. Was myself, my wife and 14month old. Hide

Superb accommodation, great views, beautifully appointed pod. The most comfortable bed ever! Even the towel were super larger & great quality. Would definitely stay here again & recommend to friends also.
