Travel 16.5 miles south to the second largest lake in England, Ullswater, where you can hire boats, book a cruise on an Ullswater Steamer with your four-legged pal, or simply take a picnic and wander the 20-mile track which surrounds the lake. Make a pitstop in the town of Penrith (7 miles) on the way home and pick up some local produce for dinner.
