Walks are possible from the doorstep with some detailed in the handy guide (would recommend the Castle Crag walk itself). Private parking available on site and buses appRead moreroximately 50 yards walk into Keswick. Log burner made it extra cosy in a very damp week. Hide

Castle Crag is a beautiful cottage, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. It is larger than the pictures suggest and has everything that you need. The location in Rosthwaite is perfect for many hikes that can start outside the door. A very lucky find and we will definitely be back.

Wonderful location if you are after a quiet break whether a few days or longer. We had 7 nights and it was wonderful. The cottage is comfortable, the garden heavenly and the locals are generous with their time and knowledge of area. Will definitely recommend and we will be back. 5 *

Good cottage in great location handy for some excellent walks and good local pubs. Actually more spacious than the website shows. Clean & well equipped. Problem with heating took a couple of days to sort out but would still stay here again.

We had a lovely short stay in the apartment. Fantastically located for hikers. There a is lovely farm shop where we picked up delicious lamb pasties for our lunch on both days just 50m from the door. Also sells eggs, emergency tins of soup and toothbrushes. For a proper shop Keswick has a couple of supermarkets. Also 100m or so from the bus route, Read moreso we walked over the top of catbells one day down into Keswick and then took the bus home. We would love to here stay again. Hide
